when shall any person, professional or not, stop giving public performance??? Of course this does not include inside their own home, within their own group in a karaoke...

Sam哥,
Happy New Year, 恭喜身體健康, 如意吉祥。
我對于老倌急流勇退有另一睇法，老倌年紀大了力不從心，
我們應當體諒，他/她們的舞台经驗不是一朝一夕儲蓄回來，
儲到某種程度又年紀色衰，確實令人無奈，但那種舞台
魅力，又豈是年青一輩所能散發出來，唱曲除了岩線岩板岩格式，
我覺得最難是唱出曲中人情懷，就像富人那知窮人苦，病人才知
自己痛。年青一辈怎有那種人生歷程來輸入曲中呢？
但說話可講回來，一些年青的曲中人物，老老倌又不大適合
去演繹。
有次有一位老老倌演繹賈寶玉，額前留海，两旁疏幾條小辮子，
向疼愛他的慈母撤驕，真另人慘不忍睹。
終結佬倌如果生活還可以的話，真真真有好的場合角式，
才演繹示範一下，不然還是站在幕後做導師好了。

as always you are correct.

there are 2 issues here.
one is when shoudl they stop singing altogether. That was what the other people were talking about.

as far as the role , as to what character they should take on i also agree with you. But there is a question of availability of characters etc. Should we be concentrating on the finess of their sining or....whatever. I have not heard of any criticism directed to Chan siu hon singing Sei See. How old is he? He is still trying to tempt a young girl to give up her virginity etc to some foreign person. Yet she instead fell in love with him.....with a 70+ year old man?????
I still have some chances. hehe

May be we let the market demand to decide their coming and going.
